Privacy and data security

We do not sell or share your data with third parties

JustLease does not sell tenant lists, landlord contact data, lease documents, or payment history to advertisers, data brokers, or other products. We do not build marketing profiles from your portal data.

The only outside services involved are ones you use to run the product itself: card and bank processing through Stripe when you collect rent, optional Google sign-in if you choose it, transactional email when you enable it, and our self-hosted signing service for digital signatures. Those providers process what is required to complete the action you started. They are not given a license to resell your portfolio.

Encryption and keys

• Sensitive profile fields (names and contact details) are encrypted in the database with AES-256-GCM.
• Lease documents uploaded to JustLease are encrypted on disk by default. Each file gets its own document key. That key is wrapped separately for the property (landlord access) and for each tenant user who should open the file.
• Someone who only obtains the raw files from disk, without the matching keys, gets ciphertext, not a readable PDF.
• Transport uses HTTPS. Production is configured for strict transport security and modern browser security headers.

Access control

• Tenants see only their own leases, documents, and payment history.
• Landlords see only properties they own or manage and the tenants on those units. They do not get a global list of every user on the platform.
• Super admin access is limited to operators you designate and is not the default for a new landlord account.

What we store

Account email, role, encrypted contact fields when provided, property and unit structure, lease terms, payment ledger rows, and documents you upload. We keep operational logs needed to run and secure the service.

We do not use your lease content to train public AI models. Your documents are for your portal, not for product training datasets.

Payments

Card and bank payments are handled by Stripe. JustLease stores ledger amounts and status so landlords and tenants can see history. Full card numbers are not stored on JustLease servers.

Your choices

You can update profile details in the app. Landlords control who is invited to a property. If you need an account removed or a data export, contact the operator who runs your JustLease deployment using the support channel they publish for your instance.
